Biketoberfest 2007 will be a blast!
If you haven’t already made plans to come to Daytona Beach for Biketoberfest 2007, what are you waiting for? Although the official dates for this annual, extended weekend event are Oct. 18 - 21, many participants come early and stay late. It’s just that much fun.
Some bikers come to cruise up and down the roads and highways to show off their wheels. Others are here just to enjoy the scene and soak up some sunshine and share some sudsy moments with friends at local bars and eateries.
As always, this year’s calendar of Biketoberfest happenings is jam-packed with fun things to do. This autumn’s gathering will feature concerts, motorcycle rallies and shows, a children’s charity ride, parties at beachfront hotels and biker bars featuring live entertainment, Harley tractor pulls, vendors displaying all sorts of biker gear on Main Street, and exhibits of classic bikes and new machines that have not yet hit the streets. There will also be plenty of chances to take a demo ride on the bike of your dreams!
Models - yes, guys, there will be scantily clad girls at many events including Willie’s Ol’ School Chopper Show (in neighboring Ormond Beach) on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2-4 PM. There will be bikini contests at various venues. And don’t forget the wet t-shirt
Although baby boomers are becoming a bit gray, they still love to feel the wind in their remaining hair while riding on a cool bike. I’m always surprised to see the wide range in age of bike event attendees each year. So, no matter how much hair you have or what color it is, biker babes, dudes, babies, grandmas and grandpas will all enjoy this fabulous fall festival.
Some events will take place at the International Speedway. One unique opportunity is a fundraiser that benefits the Rose Marie Bryon Children’s Center. For only $30, you can take two parade laps around the famed track on your bike, get two beverages and attend a fabulous party at the site.
