Big stink at the airport

There’s a big stink at the Palm Beach County International Airport. It seems the carpeting in the security checkpoint areas has become fouled by the odoriferous feet of passengers who must remove their shoes as a security measure, reports the Palm Beach Post . The smell from the foot-funk laden carpets is so pronounced that security officials at the airport have complained. Cleaning the carpets isn’t a good option because there just isn’t enough time — the checkpoints are open up

to 21 hours a day. Sari Koshetz, a Miami-based spokeswoman with the Transportation Security Administration, which operates PBIA’s checkpoints, said the administration would support plans to replace the carpet. Sounds like it’s time to give these carpets the boot. Hopefully, before summer.
