Baby boy dropped off at Oldsmar fire station

OLDSMAR — A woman who said she had just given birth earlier today dropped off a newborn baby boy at an Oldsmar fire station that evening.

Firefighters took the infant, who was wrapped in a towel, and called the sheriff’s office. The baby was left at

Eastlake Fire Rescue Station #56 at 1933 Eastlake Road in Oldsmar.

The woman declined medical attention, and the baby was taken to Mease
Countryside Hospital, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
