Authorities are looking for an armed man who entered an East Palmetto house and fired shots before fleeing early Saturday morning. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office says 13 family members, including 7 children, were asleep when a man forced open the locked front door just after 4 a.m. Deputies say one of the residents got out of bed to see what was going on and opened the bedroom door, coming face-to-face with the suspect. The resident tried to slam

the door and the suspect fired at least two shots from a handgun before running out of the house. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect did not speak to anyone and did not take anything from the house. None of the residents were injured. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5′9″ tall, wearing all black and armed with a .380 caliber handgun.
