Any given night…

On any given night in our fair mini-city we have our own version of a mass transit system. nearly every resident has seen our fleet of open air buses riding down Clematis and through city place.

Surprisingly on one of the biggest nights that our downtown hosts, “Forth on Flagler”, there was not a bus to be found. So let’s do some math. Lots and lots of citizens, most of them who rarely venture downtown, and ZERO buses. That means ZERO riders on the busiest night downtown.

It sometimes makes you wonder what our leaders were thinking… So many public and no buses. I would remind our leaders that

some of our visitors are a bit older and could have used a ride. Not to mention that when you have such a large influx of downtown visitors you have to show all the goodies so they come back!

Most of the private trade, stores, bars etc, (who had wiser leaders) were wide open and welcoming the many visitors that we had. Despite a light rain for a few hours, the spectators came and seemingly had a wonderful moment! The fireworks went off just fine, with the oh’s and ah’s just about everywhere. Radio station 105.5 did a great job with background music.
