A Woodstock Shabbat in Miami

Sun Sentinel religion writer Jim Davis alerted me to an unusual commemoration of Woodstock. On Aug. 21, Temple Israel of Greater Miami will hold a “Woodstock Shabbat” marking the 40th anniversary of hippiedom’s high-water mark and the most fabled rock festival of

them all. A Woodstock co-founder, Artie Kornfeld , will be on hand for the services. What else will go into a “Summer of Love”-themed Shabbat is an interesting question. Visit templeisrael.net for details.
