20 Florida colleges pledge millions to help veterans

If military veterans want to take advantage of the new G.I. Bill, they can find some help at a wide range of Florida independent colleges and universities. Twenty of them have pledged up to $35 million in financial aid and grants. “Our members that are participating in the Yellow Ribbon program are reporting a great deal of interest from veterans, and we are expecting several thousand veterans to enroll for the fall term at ICUF institutions,” said Dr. Ed H. Moore, president of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida. “It will be several weeks before we have an exact count on the number of veterans our members have welcomed to their campuses, but early indications are very positive.” To see the list of participating schools, and their maximum annual award, read
