2 hurt when car smashes into plaza

Two citizens were hospitalized overnight when a car slammed into a retail store at the corner of Armenia Avenue and Hiawatha Street in Tampa, authorities said.

The crash took place around 2:30 a.m. at 6804 Armenia Ave., Tampa Police Lt.

Ronald McMullen said. Both of the car’s occupants, an unidentified driver and passenger, were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.
