14 years later, Miami Dolphins CB Sean Smith finally reunites with his sisters

Sean Smith / Post file photo Smith, who turned 23 in July, barely knew his two half sisters when their mother left Smith’s father “13 or 14 years ago,” Smith said. The oldest one was 3 at the time, the youngest was an infant, and the mother was pregnant with a third when she left Smith’s father. “We lost them. Their mother moved, and we couldn’t find them,” Smith said. “I’ve been trying to find them for years, via Facebook, Myspace. I figured they have to have something. I didn’t know they were going under their mother’s last name. I didn’t even know how to spell their last name, ‘cause it’s a weird name.” Finally, last week, as the Dolphins prepared to face the Cowboys in their final preseason game, Smith got a call out of the blue from his father. “He was like, ‘Yo, I

found them. I talked to them. They live in Fort Worth (Texas),’” Smith said. “I was just like, ‘What? Are you serious?’ It’s kind of unreal.” Unfortunately, Smith, who also has an older brother, didn’t have enough time last week in Dallas to meet Keiara (16), Andreah (15) and Ania (13), but talks to them on the phone “every day now,” he said. They exchanged pictures and have tried to catch up on lost ime. “I’m actually trying to get them out here for Christmas weekend or Thanksgiving or something like that,” he said. Smith said he still has a hard time believing his recent luck, but is thrilled to have three new family members. “You’re talking like, ‘Hi, did you even know you had a brother?’ She said, ‘No,’ and I’m like ‘Wow, you serious?’” Smith said. “You just have so many questions, not enough time to get it out.”
