$10,000 reward offered for knowledge in trucker’s slaying

TAMPA — Police have announced a $10,000 reward for knowledge main to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot and killed a truck driver as he was resting in his cab final week.

Roger Earl Lee died Friday shortly after 4:45 a.m. approach the Clorox manufacturing and distribution plant at 3601 E Columbus Drive.

Lee, 65, of Nicholls, Ga., had just pulled his semitrailer truck approach the loading docks to manufacture his final delivery before heading back home. He was told by a guard that the

facility wouldn’t open for another few hours.

About 10 minutes later, a gunshot rang out and Lee stumbled from his cab toward the guard gate in his bare feet before collapsing and dying at the scene.

Clorox has offered a reward in the amount of $5,000, and Lee’s company, National Freight, has offered another $5,000. Detectives are still working leads on the case. Anyone with data is asked to shout (813) 232-6800.
